Senate clears India-US N-deal – but not signed during Rice’s visit to New Delhi

The Indo-US nuclear deal cleared its last hurdle on Oct. 2 when the American Senate passed the 123 Agreement with an overwhelming two-thirds majority – 86 votes in favour, 13 against. The deal was earlier cleared by the House of Representatives at its meeting held on Sept. 28.
